2023 tcc SCHOLARSHIP & sTIPEND Recipients

BOBBI BOYCE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $1,500

    LAUREN PEPPER

She has been a member of the TCC for 7 years and clogs with the Yellow Rose Cloggers. She began clogging when she was 7 years old and has been competing since she was nine. She credits dance for helping her develop valuable life skills, independence, and express her emotions. Lauren is currently a 12th grader at Dayton High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society,  Health Occupations Students of America, President’s Club, and Student Council. Additionally, she is a member of the school’s dance team in which she has served in the leadership roles of Lieutenant, Co-Captain, and now Colonel. Lauren plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State University in the Fall to study Nursing. We congratulate Lauren and wish her the best as she completes high school and transitions to college!

RICK FLORY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $1,500

   ALLISON BARTON

She has been a member of the TCC for 10 years. Alli started clogging when she was 8 years old in a kids’ clogging class taught by the late Lola Beaty. From there, she was invited to join the Collective Sound Cloggers, of which she is still an active member. She’s been an assistant clogging instructor at Studio G Dance in Manvel, TX and enjoys assistant teaching at Rally. Alli is currently in her 2nd year at Baylor University where she is a University Scholars major on the pre-med track with concentrations in Biology, Medical Humanities, and Spanish. Additionally, she is a member of an on-campus research lab, serves on the planning committee for the Honors Residential College, and was recently accepted into Baylor’s pre-health honor society, Alpha Epsilon Delta. Congratulations Alli – we wish you continued success in both clogging and at Baylor!

Moeller disablility SCHOLARSHIP - $1,500

   JACE BUTZKE

She is truly dedicated to the TCC and clogging in Texas. Jace has been a member of the TCC for 16 years and dances with the Yellow Rose Cloggers. She credits clogging for helping her confidence, her ability to speak in front of crowds, and helping her become a leader. This couldn’t be more evident as it was at the most recent Rally where Jace served as a Texas Instructor! Jace was recently chosen to be part of the American Folk Ensemble and will be traveling as a Texas Ambassador to Europe this summer where she will have the opportunity to dance in various festivals. Jace is in her 2nd year at Texas A&M University where she is studying Animal Science on her path to becoming a veterinarian. She also enjoys being a member of the Rosie’s women’s organization where she gets to be involved in numerous community service activities. Congratulations Jace – we look forward to watching you continue your path as both an instructor and future TCC leader!

RON HODGE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $1,500
