Waco Convention Center


Conveniently located in the downtown area alongside the scenic Brazos River, the Waco Convention Center is just a few blocks from I-35, 15 minutes from the Waco Regional Airport, and within walking distance from major hotels and quality restaurants. There are more than 1,000 first-class hotel rooms within 1 mile of the Waco Convention Center, with many more overflow rooms located within a 15 minute radius.

The Waco Convention Center has completed a three year, $17.5 million renovation, adding over 25,000 sq. ft. and increasing the total to 144,000 sq. ft. for the entire facility.

The Waco Convention Center serves as the premier meeting facility for central Texas. With a 32,000 square foot exhibit hall, a 15,000 square foot exhibit hall, and the new 14,165 sq. ft. Brazos Ballroom.

History of the Waco Convention Center

The Waco Convention Center was completed and opened in November, 1971. This original portion consisted of 63,532 net sq. ft. of meeting space. In February, 1988, an addition to the Waco Convention Center was completed. This added 18,660 net sq. ft. of meeting space to the facility. Total net sq. ft. is 82,192.

Directions to the Waco Convention Center

From Dallas, traveling south on I-35, take Exit 335B, University Parks Drive. Turn RIGHT onto University Parks Drive. You will go over two sets of railroad tracks. Follow it until you arrive at Washington Avenue. Turn LEFT on Washington Avenue. The Convention Center will be on your left, facing Washington Avenue. It is across the street from the historic Suspension Bridge.

From Austin, traveling north on I-35, take Exit 335B, University Parks Drive. Turn LEFT onto University Parks Drive. You will go over two sets of railroad tracks. Follow it until you arrive at Washington Avenue. Turn LEFT on Washington Avenue. The Convention Center will be on your left, facing Washington Avenue. It is across the street from the historic Suspension Bridge.

From Houston, traveling north on Highway 6, take the Highway 77 exit going SOUTH. Follow it to University Parks Drive. Turn RIGHT onto University Parks Drive. This will be at the Ferrell Center, a golden-domed arena on the Baylor campus. Follow University Parks Drive until you arrive at Washington Avenue. (You'll cross under I-35.) Turn LEFT on Washington Avenue. The Convention Center will be on your left, facing Washington Avenue. It is across the street from the historic Suspension Bridge.

Parking

Free parking is available in several parking lots and streets surrounding the Convention Center. Here is a list:

* Parking lot bounded by Franklin Avenue, University Parks Drive, and Third Street, facing the Freedom Fountain
* Street parking is available on Third Street, between Franklin Ave. and Washington Ave.
* There is public parking in the lots across Franklin Avenue, near RiverSquare Center, between University Parks Drive and Third Street.
* The parking lot bounded by Third Street, Fourth Street, Washington Avenue, and Austin Avenue.

Where not to park:

* Courtyard by Marriott parking lot (unless you are a guest)
* Hilton Waco parking lot (unless you are a guest)
