EDUCATION RESOURCES

The following is a special message from the Education Chair, Jack McFarland:

I am sure by now you have seen the notice that the Rally in 2010 will be in January. That means the deadline for submission of applications for the 2010 scholarships and stipend is December 22, 2009. Please contact your respective clubs and remind the directors to get the word out to any dancer graduating from high school in 2010 or currently in college to submit their application for the Scholarship awards. Remember graduating seniors from high school will have priority, but if none apply then the scholarships can go to existing college students. We will have two TCC scholarships available again this year in addition to a TCC Education Stipend Award. Since the deadline is right at the end of the fall semester I am sure the schools will not have transcripts available with the fall grades so there is no reason to wait until December. The students should submit their application now with transcripts for last year. Avoid the Christmas rush and do it now. I know the rules in the Clogger states an original application and multiple copies. I will get that changed as soon as possible. Applicants need to send only the original copy. Please give special attention to the stipend. Last year we did not have anyone apply. I am sure there are cloggers continuing their education on a part time basis.

Also don't forget about the Clogger of the Year. If you know of anyone that should receive this special recognition for their dedication to clogging please submit the name with as much information as you can.

Thanks, Jack

Information on publications is available from the Education Director.  There are publications on the history and development of clog dancing, as well as instructional and promotional materials. Each year at the Spring Rally, the Texas Clogging Council acknowledge a member who deserves special recognition in the field of clogging.  A Recommendation Form  is available.
